This cartoon is an obvious play on gerrymandering. The GOP is redistricting and is allowing on a small portion of the democratic party to be represented so that the republican party has a better chance of winning the districts. The creator of this cartoon is obviously aware of how the party in power redistricts the states in order to give the majority party the advantage in congress.
This blog is just a bunch of political cartoons that I have found online and I am just giving a somewhat simple description on what they mean to me. Read & Enjoy

This cartoon is, again pretty straight forward. The " Little Tea Party" member is actually a Senator named Orrin Hatch. It is pretty obvious by the captions that he feels negatively about Obama's healthcare plan. Hatch, along with other tea party members, feel as though if they were to eliminate Obama's healthcare plan, that would be the kick the economy needs to get back on the right track.

This cartoon takes a direct shot at Obama's leadership skills. It is kind of saying that Obama has no idea what he is doing and he is just looking scared and doesn't know what to do next as President of the United States. This cartoon is, without a doubt, from a very conservative artist. The artist is vasically saying that Obama is doing a very crappy job as President. This was a very staright forward cartoon, no need for an in depth interpretation.

This cartoon comes from a conservative site. It is easy to see what the message of this cartoon is; Obama hasn't done what he said he would do. In the trash can you can see that there are some of the proposals that Obama promised to take care of. The captions are the best part of the cartoon. Instead of being seismograph results from the earhquake Japan just had, it is polygraph results. Not only is Obama lying about what he is going to do, his lies are way off the charts.

So in this cartoon, Moammar Gadhafi is telling a military official how much the people love him. This is kind of an inside joke. It is talking about how he ordered the bombing of his own people in Libya and yet he thinks that they were "willing" to die for him. In the background of the cartoon you can see two jets or planes flying over a mass of people. This, in a way, is the hint that he Gadhafi bombed or was getting ready to bomb his people. This cartoon is giving the reader a funny outlook on a horrible situation. A country of people wanted a change in their government and they ended up getting bombed by their own leader. I think that the artist is a liberal with a sense of humor. I think that if a conservative would have drawn this cartoon, it would have had a more serious nature and probably would have made Gadhafi look more maniacal.

- The words that are being used in this cartoon are: deficit, budget, and spending. In a way, all of these words go hand and hand. A deficit of any kind leads to spending on a budget for departments of the government.
- In the cartoon, the Washington state expenses are all on a bus that is suck in between the deficit and the state budget. In order for the bus to get over, healthcare and education have to get off of the bus and push. This means that the healthcare and education cost is not included in the state spending budget. So in order for other issues to be included in the spending in Washington, healthcare and education have to be dropped.
- The ideological perspective could be either one of a liberal that is being satirical or of a conservative. But I am leaning more towards a satirical liberal.
- The message of this cartoon is that in order for the spending in Washington to get better, the government will cut certain aspects of education and healthcare.
